Video Submission Rules & Regulations

General Requirements

Your recorded video speech must have been made in 2021.

Please see additional Rules and Regulations before submitting your video.

A professional recording is not required, but good audio and video quality is important.

As the CYSA competition is normally held in person, your video should provide a full body view. We recommend using a tripod to hold your phone/video camera in a stationary position.

Editing and Protocol

Your video should not be edited or modified in any way. This will be automatic grounds for disqualification. Your speech should be recorded in one continuous take.

Dress as you would for the live performance and remember to make eye contact with the camera.

File Naming

Please create a YouTube account for the purpose of uploading your video.

Note that you must select “Unlisted” in the Privacy settings, found under the Broadcasting and Sharing Options section, when uploading your video file to YouTube. If you select “Private” your submission will be invalid.

You must select the “No, it’s not made for kids” setting in the Audience section and turn the comments section off. Additionally, choose the “No, don’t restrict my video to viewers over 18 only” option under the Age Restriction section.

Name your YouTube link before submission, indicating the competition name, followed by your name, for example: Junior – Catherine Willis.

Submission

Please use the video submission form to submit the link to your video. A typical YouTube link will be formatted as https://youtu.be/WOMKK1BEN1A.

Your video must be submitted by 11:59 PM on September 30, 2021. Any videos submitted past the deadline will not be eligible to enter the 2021 CYSA Competition and will be deleted.
